What a Spring Time at Upper Newton. Lovely guests in wandering around exploring. Children enjoying collecting cones into strategically placed baskets (great for our new woodburner), bit early to do the slug hunts with torches so keeps them out of mischief!
The Bird Cherry and Bluebells are stunning this year as are the Viburnums - great combination here, over exposed photo sorry - soooo hot and bright yesterday. The purple sage, euphorbia polychroma, tulips and emerging eryngiums here in the Box Ball border.
Todays project is to get some seeds into warm compost beds - I picked up some packets of bee friendly annuals at Malvern RHS show last year - the bed under the quince and medlar needed attention - ie major weeding so this is the year to sow them as a trial. Companion planting at their best next to the spuds, onions and leeks. Oh and the sick standard bays which after two freezing winters are now just twig structures heeled in. Will pinch a little seaweed feed from he who is most important and sit and have a chat to see if miracles can happen! May pop up a photo for you to laugh.
